Influence of Gender Differences on Second Language Acquisition

Part two

Data analysis and discussion of finding

I-Data collection

Figure1: Does girls and boys learn differently?

This figure shows students are truly learned differently. Which they respond about the question “do girls and boys learn differently the second language acquisition. The total respondent’s show that 60% found differences in learning language and 39% of students say no

Figure2: Do you think that girls are better in learning language than boys?

This figure present that the total of respondent show that is 54-55% answer with positive. Besides, other students respond with negative response were 45% and reveal that the majority of responds reflect the reality.

Influence of Gender Differences on Second Language Acquisition

Figure 3: “the research of neuroscience finds out that the structure of brain is different in gender”

This figure above shows that the majority of students (72%) respond with yes, which means that the question that the structure of brain is differ in gender, that has an influence in differences. While 27% respond with negative responds, it depends on other views.

Influence of Gender Differences on Second Language Acquisition

Figure 4: “Environmental factors such as parents play a big role in the achievement of education”

In this figure, it can be seen that a lot of students (51%) say that are strongly agree and agree which means that parents and environment factors play an important role in achievement of education. However, just 21% respond with neutral and 0% of both disagree and strongly disagree say that parents and environmental factors play no role in achievement of education, they may not link their success with parents.

Influence of Gender Differences on Second Language Acquisition

Figure 5: “Memory is the most important factors that effects language learning, according to the contents of memory, boys are good at logical memory while girls are good at emotional memory that help them to get more scores tan boys in language learning.”

As can be seen in figure 5, more than half students believe that memory differences in memory can help girls to learn better. 12% are strongly agree and 27% are agree while 15% are neutral. They have not any idea about it. Besides, 12% are disagree and 6% are strongly disagree. That is to say they may do not think memory can make differences.

Influence of Gender Differences on Second Language Acquisition

Figure6: “Biological speaking, girls sound and pronunciation organs developed much earlier than boys; so, the girls’ students are good at verbal, hearing and expression. And their verbal expression ability and auditory perception are stronger than boys, so that, they grade generally better than boys”

The majority of participants are with the idea (30% strongly agree and 21% agree). It can be concluded that the characteristics in girls such as organs pronunciation, verbal expression ability are stronger than boys. But other participants which answer 15% neutral and 12% disagree and 6% strongly disagree with the statement which means they have no idea about their physical.

II-Discussion of findings

the data analysis shows that gender differences are more widely appear in the analysis of data. The result reveal that the finding of the question girl is better in learning language than boy it is about 54% respondents; which means that the differences between male and female attract the attention of students. According to what has mentioned in neuroscience, the structure of brain in gender is different 72% of participants that determine that the statement is true.

From the findings of students’ respondents, we can assume that parents and environment factors encourage students constantly getting success. 51% of students claim that this factors always play an important role in the education of their children. Based on the findings, this study reveals that the students who are girls and distinguish with emotional memory can have more chance to acquire language letter that boys in verbal expression ability and high quality of thinking. Also, biologically research found out that girls are better in learning language because of their organ’s pronunciation and more than 30% strongly agree; 21% agree of students, while other are not.

All this finding suggest that the gender differences existed objectively, and in terms of learning a second language, girls have obvious advantages than boys.

 General Conclusion

Though comparison and analysis of the factors influencing boys and girls students in the second language acquisition, it can be known that boys and girls students are different in second language acquisition. Literature suggest that these differences exist in early as well as later stages of development. Gender differences impact the way students learn. According to the use and study of the pioneers, it has clearly confirmed that female and male are wired differently in physical, environmental, learning strategies, gender differences in intelligence quality. Thus, it is not surprising that girls are better than boys in early stages of the language learning. Also, data analysis confirms this hypothesis.

In conclusion, gender differences in using language are available in the classrooms. In some language aspects, girls students outperform boys students, there are various factors behind gender differences in using language. Gender differences are noticed in both spoking and written discourses. Further, it seems that girls students use formal language than boys.

Implication of study

The difference between the male and female students in second language, especially in English learning should attract the attention of students and teachers. Education should admit this kind of differences, attach importance to this difference according to gender difference, learn their respective advantage of the concept on teaching of gender difference, and improve the efficiency of English teaching and learning.

As an education workers, we should teach according to the characteristics of the male and female students and teaching material arrangement. And we should not only understand the discrepancies between male and female students mentally, connecting the traditional negative gender bias and gender concepts, more should be done according the difference of teaching, and the same time, but also, play the respective advantages of the male and female students according to the difference of teaching to help them avoid short points, and leading them to talk with girls as much as possible  to increase the language sense and language ability. Teachers should exert the advantage of their sensitive perception.

The limitation of study

The proposal research has been finished with several limitations first and foremost is the purpose of the research is conducted in an English context. it’s that is only collected from students of university Moulay Ismail Meknes, all those are supposed to be taken into consideration. beside the proposal the research on the influence of gender differences on second language acquisition Molly refers to language and genders learning language and the factors which affect the process of learning. there are some difficulties that ark encounter in their study while collecting data. because of time constraints a research paper is not a work of two months or three, for it prevent researches from being involved completely with the researching topic. to conduct a researchable reasonable research, one needs much time so as to read more carefully about his/her entire topic. this research paper did not use interview with students. So as to know if students are awarded to wards the differences in learning language even though the results that is presented by questionnaire, we’re satisfied to complete this research successfully learning.

Research prospect

The prospect research on gender differences in learning language is obvious the societal needs, people belief system, the Hidalgo circle needs to understand education performance and measures. gender differences in learning language is a precious issue especially and the development of the section of education because the prospect and civilization of humanity is education. We should give more interest and attention to differences which discusses above as education must learn the characteristic biological explanations, learning strategies and intelligence quality to discover and distinguish the process of boys and girls in learning language because each gender has specific characteristics to understand lecture in order to get growth in that field and bring productivity to our countries, future of our generations and people will became bitter citizen with education, this is why we should make more efforts and be aware of this differences as much as possible.
